"RUST REMODELED" is out!

RUAT REMODELED: REMIXES OF CATHODE RAY TUBE'S "LIFE AMONG THE RUST

RUAT REMODELED: REMIXES OF CATHODE RAY TUBE'S "LIFE AMONG THE RUST

Finally! After months and months of waiting and wrangling it's out! RUST REMODELED is out! After many months of secret negotiations, data transmissions and clandestine movements, "RUST MODELED" is here. Using materials sourced from the songs of Life Among The Rust, nine artists took these sonic stems and grew nine very different songs from the originals. The breadth of styles and sounds is incredible. From the symphonic freneticism of Robert Logan's "Hornets" remix to the Berlin dub funk of Gys's "Abundance" to the outright lunacy of Kyle Rosin's bristling "Cassette Megamix," almost every corner of electronic music is touched upon.

I cannot tell you how excited I am that this has hit the light of day (of course on the day it's released a blizzard is ravaging the Northeastern United States but whatevs...). Way back in the summer of 2016 I approached Raab Codec of Component with the idea of doing a compilation of remixes of songs from my album Life Among The Rust. I contacted all the remixers, got the stems (recorded tracks of each instrument for those who ain't music heads) to each remixer and waited. And waited. Everybody got their tracks in around the deadline barring one notable who bowed out after much dithering but a gentleman never tells. Then there was more wrangling and whatnot until finally it was ready.  And behold what a masterpiece it is. I wish I could take credit it for it but honestly I gave these guys the raw materials and said build something. Then they proceeded to do amazing things with all the tracks.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. The tracks are embedded below. But you can get it via Component Recordings as a pay what you want download. Please give what you can because it only allows more great stuff like this to happen!
